Artist Complains About Criticism; Is Defended By Coworkers, Fans

In what is becoming a recurring trend, it turns out that we can't actually go a late Spring without some sort of IDW controversy. This time, /mlp/'s favorite artist, Jay Fosgitt, is once again a subject of controversy.

Hulk Hogan MLP -comic encounter details revealed

Last Spring, we ran a post with a photo of an MLP comic, purportedly signed by Hulk Hogan himself, with no real backstory to go on. Well today, nearly a year later, we received an email from the owner of the comic, complete with the story of how the former WWE / WWF wrestler came to know about bronies, complete with photos of the encounter.

The email reads as follows:

The Comics are back

Hey remember how we use to make those comics, like, a month and a half ago and we got so hammered we all forgot? Well we sobered up and remembered them. Woops.

Comics of the Day

Horse News is happy to announce a new feature to the site. Down below to the right, among all of the other shit no one pays attention too, you can find a widget containing a comic created by staff here at horse news. The comics will be updated everyday whenever the editors feel like it, and they will feature strips from various authors about various subjects. Safe for work is not guaranteed; caution is advised.

Bronycon sent us a press release

Holy shit. That's unexpected.
Bronycon actually sent us a press release. This must be a mistake.

Nonetheless, BronyCon is announcing Andy Price as a guest. You can read the words below.

FuryBelle Returns

We're happy to say that Catfood has come out of retirement and is back making Fury Belle comics. In an arch called "The Third Wave of Fury Belle", the RadFems have finally overthrown the patriarchy and have conquered Equestria, and have set their sights on the Human World...

Oh yes...

Comic writer wanted racial politics, gets them - OP/ED - UPDATE

Some people operate under the assumption that pony fans have a specific vendetta against Ted Anderson and his IDW My Little Pony comics. Those people would be surprised to know that while Tedly is the most frequent offender, he's hardly the only comic creator that fans take issue with.

Enter Jeremy Whitley, writer for My Little Pony: Friends Forever #14, an issue he personally described as being "the most socially and politically conscious pony comic you ever read" mere minutes after its official release.

He was right.
And that might not be something one should strive for.

Soft Confirmation of Dragon-related Episode

IDW Comics MLP "Friends Forever #14" was recently released, featuring a Dragon Town in Fillydelphia, full of humanoid non-violent dragons living together in an urban landscape. Including a female one that has...hair...for some reason. Once you get past the glaring error in canon (Twilight Sparkle not having a single book in her expansive library about dragons because they are too dangerous to study), and the #NotAllDragons tumblr-style soapboxing, you have a detective story where spike gets treated like crap again until he saves the day for a twelfth time.

And once you get past THAT, you get word that dragons will be returning to the show in this manner...depending who you believe.

MLP comic declared one of ComicsAlliance.com's Best Comics of 2014

Batman. Superman. Iron Man. Spiderman. Harley Quinn. The Joker. The Incredible Hulk. My Little Pony. It's official, one of the issues of Friendship is Magic has been declared one of the best for the entire year of 2014 by a site that isn't part of the fandom.

In unrelated news, several hundred comic book aficionados were found dead in their basements today. Police still aren't sure why.

Anonymous made villains of latest IDW comic, and it doesn't even make sense

At the outset, few were expecting much from the least-liked writer on the IDW My Little Pony team Ted Anderson, with his latest release of the Equestria Girls Holiday Special. But, after months of an ongoing feud with fans over his inflammatory actions, readers were in for a surprise. The comic made even less sense than we could have expected, and Ted decided to make "Anonymous" the villians.

Boycott Commerce but Buy Our Comics

The past few days have been tense for many, as the aftermath of the Ferguson decision continues to build. Pony fans have not been immune to the shitstorm of the politically charged issue. Brought into the fray this evening, is infamous IDW comic writer for the MLP series Ted Anderson, who has become more active on tumblr in the recent days, with some controversial posts on the issue.

Soundmonkey44: The Very Personification of Shillery, part 1

Sometimes, autism can build up in a person to the point where they can no longer function when communicating with other people. Soundmonkey44's acts of shillery are probably the farthest anybody has ever gone with shilling. I'd wager to say he is the definiton of not having a life... Oh wait...

IDW announces new comic that kicks fans in groin; bronies rejoice

In response to fan feedback about a "more immersive" pony comic experience, IDW today announced an issue of their newest comic that has a unique feature: the ability to kick any fan who picks it up directly in their genital region.

IDW Pony Sales take a hit

The IDW comics, until recently, were not something that many of us paid too much attention to. We knew they sold a shitload of copies, and that's about it. But ever since the proposed boycott of the comics due to the Ted Anderson incident, comic fans have been minding the numbers pretty closely. The September figures are out, and we've been informed that sales have clearly taken a hit.

Anti-Brony Cameo in IDW comics results in dismissal of Ted Anderson

Last week, we reported on the outrage that fans had regarding the inclusion of two OC's in the latest IDW MLP comic. The OCs belonged to two artists who were known to have anti-fandom messages and artwork, and a history of aggression towards men and male fans of MLP.

Today we have an update: According to response emails from those who sent messages of concern, Ted Anderson will no longer be working with IDW comics.
