MLP Transphobia Chronicles - Day 2 - It Never Ends this Shit.

So, it's now been more than a full day since a red cartoon horse put on a dress and apparently ruined some people's lives. Some people (mostly tumblr) have been so devastated by the age-old (measuring this in millenia) trope of a person posing as the opposite sex, that they in-fact haven't stopped talking about it, even still. Despite countless members of the trans community coming forward to say that the episode in question was not offensive in any way, others have decided to put their keyboards to their heads and pull the trigger.

Let's take a look at today's winners.

Oh by the way, Ted Anderson is agreeing with the people saying they're "disappointed" in MLP for being Transphobic. And HE wants to be on the show staff!

Big Mac in a Dress Sparks Predictable Outrage Over "Transphobia"

So in the episode "Brotherhooves Social", Big Macintosh puts on a dress to pose as a girl, in order to compete in the Sisterhooves Social with his baby sister Applebloom. Why he does this is simply because he's willing to do anything it takes to become her hero again. So a boy posed as a girl to make the plot work, and that's a tale as old as time, and is no new concept to the world of cartoons.

What IS a new concept to the world of cartoons, is the predictable outrage that it brought from some people who saw Big Mac's crossdressing as an attack or insult on the Transsexual / Transgender ect ect community.

We've sung this song and danced this dance before, let's just look at what the lyrics say this time.

4chan's Operation GemPolish - How Tumblr Took Another Troll Hook, Line, and Sinker

Yes we're aware this isn't pony. But it IS cartoon, 4chan, and tumblr, so fuck it.

At the dawn of Tumblr in 2007, there was peace.  Peace, achieved through overwhelming obscurity.
That peace lasted until 2010, when the users, drunk on their 3 years of hugbox wine, got too big for their britches and decided to kick the hornets nest that was 4chan (4chan at this time was in the midst of some of their most notorious raids).

4chan awoke from their slumber and punished tumblr so severely (rendering it briefly inoperable, and flooding every feed with violent pornography). They left them for dead and carried on. It was thought they would never make the same mistake again.

Then, in July of 2014, they made the same mistake again, reheating a long dormant conflict between the social justice fanatics, and the free-speech free-for-all that is 4chan once again, resulting in major tears from the tumblrs.

Well here we are in Summer 2015 and /b/ has decided to go on a fishing trip, using their new favorite bait: Steven Universe.

By now, nobody is a stranger to Derpibooru's draconian moderation team, and their unwieldy banhammer, which is used against...just about everyone. Yesterday, a struggle (likely one of many) was pitched between the users and the admins, over some whiny nobody artist who will "no longer be drawing MLP art" due to it "not being respected" and "whitewashed".

Ever the champions of free speech (unlike reddit), 4chan decided to take it upon themselves to respect the living shit out of the artist's message, and take the moderation team to task for their unrelenting bullshit. Let's take a look at what they made.

DinoOmNoms part 3: Original account pulls the ol' switcharoo

A week ago we reported on an SJW by the name of DinoOmNoms (real name Morgan Dambergs) who was harassing Amy Keating Rogers and saying that she and the episode she wrote "Bridle Gossip" was transphobic and then made various random Tumblr noises in utter frustration at their own lack of competence. Thanks to your efforts the original account is down...kind of. Here we go again.

It's Friday morning here at Horse News. The sun is shining, the air is warm. A national holiday weekend, time for some relaxation and nothing to bother us. But then, as we sit down at the breakfast table we open up a box of our favorite cereal, and our twitter feeds, to find this. A nice big bowl of RAGE to start the day.

It's been nearly a week since the "Agender", "asexual", ASSHOLE that is DinoNoms began harassing Amy Keating Rogers on Twitter. Here we are at day 5 and DinoNoms is still at it.

By now, we're used to the crazies on twitter. Whether it's Jose Mendoza trying desparately to get Megan McCarthy to read his fanfic, or a right wing nut telling everyone involved that they're going to hell, we thought we'd seen it all.

We were wrong.

Over the last 3 days, Amy Keating Rogers has been under almost constant assault by a twitter user named "DinoNoms". For what? We can barely discern. It has something to do with "bigotry" and "transphobia". 

While we try to sort this out, take a look at just SOME of the tweets s/he's lobbed her way.

Notorious Anti-brony artist scamming own customers?

It's been a while since we've given a shit about the dealings of DragonDicks (aka Cuteosphere), the notorious anti-man, anti-brony, hypocrite artist who received a cameo in the IDW rags comics last year. Many will remember that, like so many other SJWs she used ponies as political mouthpieces while drawing questionable artwork, and selling the products as tshirts like the one that Ted Anderson is seen wearing. 

Well we've received word today that Cuteosphere may be on-track to add "Con" to her "artist" title, as she hasn't even been filling orders for the shirts she's been selling, and ignoring all attempts at contact by her customers.

That's right, she's even pulling one over on her own fans.

Tumblr is already shitting itself

Pone started off season 5 with an amazing premise about faux equality and dangerous cults, so it was no surprise that Tumblr would react a little salty to this. But we didn't expect it to be so soon. This day just keeps getting better.

Don't get me wrong, we here at Horse News love shitting on Tumblr.  And we, like the internet-drama-obsessed socially awkward neckbeards we are, enjoy talking about how bad Tumblr is at every possible occasion.

But, at the end of the day, we like to think of ourselves as totally are legit journalists and as such are compelled to present multiple viewpoints to every story.

Horse News: The Mad Lib

We here at Horse News get a lot of fan mail, ranging from court summons to Cease and Desist notices to hundreds of gigabytes of gore and child pornography and even advertisements for hot local mares in our area.

But as much as we love the thought that some of our adoring fans put into these well-written and thought out works of appreciation, we do receive our fair share of hate mail as well. And one thing we’ve noticed about all this hate mail before it goes in the special place reserved for Nigerian princes, ads for local brony meetups, and >no hooves, is that a lot of this mail is nearly identical.

The My Little Pony fandom has survived many things. Failed conventions, Howard Stern, multiple scams, Anti-Bronies, a civil war over the "brony" label, and mountains of pornography.

After all of these hardships and countless others, the fans have always managed to land on their feet. But yesterday, many had finally drawn the last straw. An event so earthshaking, so devastating, and so widespread, that many are seeing fit to call for blood and death, and others are rage quitting the show and everything about it, and forsaking the now filthy title of "Brony". All over a stolen doll.
