Mare Fair's Charity for 2023

 Good evening, Anons!

I hope you’re as excited for Mare Fair as I am! The hip new convention on the block makes its debut on September 29 and runs through to October 1st.

The convention auction's proceeds will benefit the local charity Fallen Oak Equine Rescue and Rehabilitation. I wanted to know more about this charity and why Mare Fair chose them, so I interviewed their Charity lead. Check it out below!

GM Berrow Gets Hitched (With Horses)

MLP writer and cool person who talks to us when we ask nicely and stuff G.M. Berrow got hitched this weekend, and had ponies involved. MA Larson and Tony Fleecs were there too, posting on Twitter about it.

The last time we posted about a staff wedding we got in a bunch of trouble. But hey, for what it's worth; from everyone here at HN, Congrats GM. Cheers to many years of happiness!

St. Louis Horse Ride Protest

Sometimes at Horse News, we get press releases. And sometimes those press releases have to do with...actual Horse News. Today we received one that reads as follows:

PROTEST OF INHUMANE ST. LOUIS HORSE CARRIAGE RIDES, FOR ANNIVERSARY OF ‘KING’ THE HORSE’S DEATH
Animal Legal Defense Fund and St. Louis Animal Rights Team continue to put pressure on city officials

We have no idea what any of this is about, but hey, you should find out below.

The Swiss Attempt to Bring Back the Centaurs

We just received word from a German Swiss source, and another, that some of those crazy mountain Jews have taken the words of Adult Swim a bit too seriously, and are attempting to bring back the Centaurs by having their way with horses.

Libya Loves Horses more than We Do

This past semester I have been conducting a bit of research on the Middle East, adding tremendously to my poor search history that probably already had me high up on the government's watch list. But, somewhere in the midst of typing "ISIS" into a Google search bar hundreds of times, I stumbled upon a very interesting section from the Tripoli Post of Libya.
You can't make this up: http://www.tripolipost.com/equestrian_news.asp

Milk, Straight from Where?!

You all just lost your jobs now.
Ever hear of Kumis? No? Don't feel bad, neither have we, at least not up until one of our followers on Twitter sent us this little juicy milky gem. The rest is below the break for all the details.

Justice For Patches - Pony tortured to death, community needs your help #Justice4Patches

Before some anon claims that this is "social justice": No, this is REAL justice.

I was trying to come up with an eloquent way to introduce this, but unfortunately I am at a loss for words. This is something so absolutely depraved, so inhuman, so monstrous, that I really can't process.

Meet Patches. Patches, is a little pony from Idaho, who was tortured on the night of September 5th, by criminals unknown. He was dragged behind a car for more than a mile, having the skin tore from his body and was left to die by the side of the road. He was stabbed, beaten, and parts of his genitals were cut off.  They beat him over the head with a blunt object until his eyes swelled shut. Are you as pissed off as I am just reading that?
Thought so.

The small community is banding together to raise a reward for the capture of these hideous excuses for human beings. Here's where you can help get Justice For Patches.

The details are copied below.

Man breaks leg trying to make passionate love to a horse...for the third time

It's no secret that we're huge advocates of horse loving, actively partaking in it for company bonding. So we'd like to take this time to show our support to a man who takes his tender equine loving seriously. Cirilo Castillo Jr broke his leg in a valiant attempt at giving one of his horses third helpings, as any true patriot would do.

In an exponential increase of violence in Baltimore today, protesters launched attacks against police, with at least seven officers having received serious injuries and several police vehicles being destroyed. The National Guard has been called and a curfew is in place for the city.

The increased unrest comes only a few days after smaller incidents broke out among the protesters. Over the weekend, a few violent protesters took up arms against the Baltimore Police Department by smashing windows and throwing debris at riot police.

Let's face it, we've all been there. You meet a nice girl, you go on a few dates, soon enough you're getting ready to pop the question, but you have a lingering fear in the back of your mind.
"Is my girlfriend actually a horse? Or has she been lying to me the entire time?"
Well now you can put your troubled mind to rest, as "IsYourGirlfriendAHorse.com" has arrived.

Best Pony Competition

Over the weekend Horse News held its second annual best pony* competition to see if the viewers opinions on the pone have changed within the past year. We went around the internet asking anonymous contributors what their favorite pony is and, unsurprisingly, the results were unanimous.

By the end of the polling, which lasted from now, a whopping total of everyone who voted decided that the winner is...

best pony ever

In Amsterdam you can eat a "My Little Pony" burger

Many of you will likely remember Anthony Bourdain singing "My Little Pony" as he sampled horse meat in one of his culinary adventures. Well coming off the wire today is a similar experience. In Amsterdam, at a food truck known as "The Kitchen of the Unwanted Animal", you can enjoy a "My Little Pony" burger, which is, of course made of horse meat.

Indiana is one of the nation's premier flyover states, boasting miles upon miles of corn and the occasional car race.
What could be better than drunk rednecks and loud noises?
But today, Brown County simultaneously restored hope that my home state can be redeemed and saved an important life in the process.

"What it's like to date a horse" - A tell-all interview

Last week, an article appeared on nymag.com called "What it's like to date a horse", which, as it turns out, is EXACTLY what it sounds like. The article explains, IN DETAIL, the ins and outs of being a Canadian Horse Fucker. We've decided to compare notes and bring you some of the most important information below.

Apple Jack was a military hero

An image of mysterious origins has been making the rounds on the interwebs, featuring a grave marker that bears the name "Apple Jack". We have tracked down the origin of this tombstone, and it appears that it actually belonged to a veteran of the US Army. And that veteran...was a horse.
