Sony Music shutting down Pony Remixes on Youtube

The fandom is no stranger to the endless onslaught of Cease and Desist letters, threats of legal action, and especially copyright claims. However it's been long assumed that pony-music-remixes, like most musical re-arrangements, were largely safe from such claims, as they fall into the realm of fair use. This doesn't seem to be the case, as numerous MLP remixes have begun receiving content claims from Sony Music, who are blocking the tracks on Youtube.

Massive Show Flash Asset Leak - SO MUCH STUFF

Today's hits just keep on coming! Earlier today, following the news of the Them's Fightin Herds funding campaign launch (which has raised $92,000 in 14 hours), and the "Scare Master" Episode Leak, we have potentially ANOTHER major news story breaking right now.

A post has surfaced with a link, to what appears to be hundreds and hundreds of official show asset Flash Files.

We won't be linking them here, because why help Hasbro? You know where to find them.

Discovery Family losing viewers - C&D's CinemaQuestria

By now, most everyone has heard the news that CinemaQuestria, a Saturday-morning Streaming Staple, has been suddenly slapped with a cease and desist, spotlighting a sad state of affairs for the show. CinemaQuestria is just one of many private streamers of the episodes on Saturday mornings, and potentially just the first to be struck with the banhammer.
This has of course led to speculation over the biggest question: "Why?"
Why would Hasbro and Discovery Family do this now, after all this time, and from a business aspect why is it even a bad thing?
A few anons have noted a fact that has gone overlooked this season; a shocking trend that we wouldn't have expected.

Discovery Family is hemorrhaging viewers.

Drawponies Scandal Day 3 - The final word on #traceponies

By now you're probably all aware that The Artist Formerly Known as DrawPonies was officially caught red-handed. Everyone who believed him to be faultless was proven wrong when he admitted in his "Message From Drawponies" that he traced artwork.

This has brought about 2 simultaneous waves - one of disgust and anger, and another of blind forgiveness.

Let's take a look, at where we stand now.

DrawPonies Scandal Day 2: Damage Report

Yesterday, DrawPonies (or as he is now being called "TracePonies") was caught tracing show screencaps, during a livestream by his own Fans, who contacted us in their understandable outrage. The post has since become the 4th most-read article on Horse News and continues to climb as fans continue to express their anger and disappointment at DP, who has yet to appear for comment. The damage continues to spread, as more and more complaints and testimonials roll in, even from admins of the Drawponies Facebook page, who have expressed their displeasure as more evidence of the issue surfaces.

Below we've collected screencaps of much of the fallout thus-far, as well as a screencap of DP tracing another face to create a piece.

DRAWPONIES SCANDAL! Popular artist caught tracing the show... by his own fanclub!

Can he trace the official show? Yes! As long as he doesn't sell the work... oh wait...
Longtime fandom artist and vendor Neil Wacaster, also known by his artist and company name 'Drawponies', has been longtime suspected of tracing from the show, but the time has come where he's been caught in the act by his own fanclub.

Music Thief Darren Ross: Buys his followers and...makes creepy sexual videos of children?

Here at Horse News, we do the digging, and sometimes even we get disgusted at some of the shit we find.

Hot hot hot slurp slurp

Last week, we wrote an article about this guy, Darren Ross, who has been actively stealing music from the fandom, applying his shitty voiceovers on top of them, and copyrighting them so he monetizes off the original song's views. Well, we've done some more digging about this guy, and uncovered some incredibly vain and some unsettling disgusting shit this man has done.

WikiLeaks SONY Document Dump leaks information about MLP Movie?

Sony, the company which created the film "The Interview" and was subsequently hacked by a group known as the "Guardians Of Peace" last year, has become the target of a massive document dump on the infamous website known as "WikiLeaks". The website, which typically plays host to leaked government files of dubious classification, is in this instance publishing the stolen emails and documents of a corporation.

Among the emails which we cannot publish here for obvious legal reasons, are conversations regarding the upcoming My Little Pony film in production by Allspark Studios.

Filly Funtasia Releases New Trailer

Everyone's favorite upcoming show, Miniature Magical Mystery Horse Blatant-Rip-Off Extravaganza Bonanza Funtasia Fantasia 2000, has recently released a new teaser promoting their totally original and unique show about magical horses doing crazy shenanigans.

ChuckyBB and his fake ID? Horse News Investigates...

A few days ago, I wrote an article in a neutral aspect on ChuckyBB, who was recently thrown out from GalaCon for pretending to be DHX staff. Shortly after, he changes his name to Misty Dash and defends himself saying he was a freelancer and it was only a temp job.

Bullshit.

After a short investigation, I can conclude that ChuckyBB, Misty Dash or whatever he'll change his name to next is an insane, over the top liar who you do not want at your con.

Hasbro Legal 3: Rise of the Content ID

For those who haven't seen what's been going on recently, you probably haven't been checking your favourite artists social media; people on YouTube have been getting content claims. It's no coincidence it's all happening now; infact, there is a root cause for this pony censorship; YouTube Content ID.

In case you didn't know, Content ID has been destroying user-generated fan content since 2007. It's essentially a system for copyright holders to upload all their assets and have content on YouTube scanned for it to either take down, track, or monetise. Sounds great right? Sounds like a flawless system so copyright holders get what they're entitled to? Wrong. In more than numerous occasions it has had issues or not understood fair use.

Today, Laserpon3 (MasterPJ55) has been hit with a copyright claim and so has Silva Hound. For information on what they look like, see below
