/mlp/arty BABScon 2017
Room: 2016
Friday / Saturday nights starting 9:30 PM
Age 21+

As we prepare to enter Season 7 of My Little Pony, and the 5th year of /mlp/arties, we would like to look back on how the fun times got started.

This weekend is BABScon, and it's no secret that they're one of our all-time favorite gatherings of horse enthusiasts. The reasons for that are many, but most importantly is that they will be playing host to the 4th consecutive /mlp/arty in San Francisco. For many attendees, the /mlp/arty is one of those things that has just, always sort-of "been there", as old as pony cons itself. Many would be surprised to learn that the regularly-scheduled drinkathons had very...disorganized and turbulent beginnings.

M.A. Larson throws cool pizza party no one attends

M.A. Larson, shortly after his "party" ended

ROCHESTER, MN - "I thought people liked me," sighed a dejected M.A. Larson. "I guess mom was right: not even fat losers want free pizza and whisky if I'm gonna be there"

After weeks of planning, scheduling, and anticipation, Larson threw a special pizza party for him and his brony fans today, an event that not even the most desperate attention whore attended. Along with Larson's virginity and self-esteem, two dozens pizzas and six handles of various alcoholic beverages were completely untouched after it became apparent even the desperate denizens of the internet skipped out.

So...

Yeah.

Things are pretty dull around here lately. It seems like nobody has really noticed though. Most of the news is pretty small potatoes anymore. "Oh there's a new episode synopsis"..."oh there's a new preview clip"...Whoop-de-friggin-do. What really is keeping us motivated is the upcoming convention season.

BUCK is playing their last encore this weekend, and we'll be sending a couple guys to document it. If you're in the UK, you should go toast the end of an era.

Next weekend - the 15th-17th - Midwest Media Expo will be returning, but this time in Dearborn just outside of our Detroit HQ - you can expect some pony shit going down there.

BABScon is coming up this month too from the 22nd to the 24th. That'll have some cool people, and also Chelis. Lauren "Mama" Faust will be there (too bad Hell would have to freeze over for us to talk to her) and so will Jeremy "Dragontown" Whitley so there will be some fun contrast to look forward to. Our friend Catie Wayne is going, and she's now a Voice Actress for Disney so be sure to ask her about that.

I myself will of course not be attending any of those, as the Pacific Ocean is a big thing and even I can't swim that far that fast.

I did however attend "AnimeJapan" 2 weekends ago, one of the largest Anime conventions on the planet, right in Tokyo.

Let's take a look at those pics because why the fuck not.

Peter New off the market

In the nearly 6 years since the dawn of the fandom, we've seen our fair share of marriages and relationships among the #horsefamous. Mando and Sibsy got hitched...Andrea Libman got married (and we got in trouble for telling you). WeAreBorg both proposed to, was kidnapped from, and got married to Cynder at pony conventions (and we threw a "bachelor" party). And then there was that brief fling between Seth and a candle.

Today, we add another pair of names to the growing list of lovebirds.
By the looks of Twitter, Peter New - the voice of Big Macintosh, and some other characters on that pet shop show - will be tying the knot with that Amy chick from the twitter website.

Babscon 2015- A Vendor's Perspective

Babscon overall was a bit of a drunken blur- but instead of waking up afterwards mugged and who knows what else, my wallet was packed with twenties and there was a smile that wouldn't leave my face until the jetlag set in. I'm not going to lie, I am going to spend the majority of this article jerking Babscon off, because the complaints are far and few in between. But hey, if you can stand it long enough I've managed to sneak in some secret stripper pics from the /mlp/ party if you can find them. More after the break!
