Hasbro Franchise Crashed With No Survivors Before Launch; Jeremy Whitley Confirmed for Guardians of Harmony

"Needs more lesbians"- Jeremy "muh OC" Whitley, 2016

Between movie news and the prospect of a new, more "gender neutral" series of Guardians of Harmony toys and comics, many were pleasantly surprised to see the new direction of the franchise. That is, until news about the accompanying comics was revealed today.

RIP Guardians of Harmony, 2016-2016.

    1. What's your problem with Purple Tranny?

    2. This is in memorium of the tirade Purple Tranny went on a while ago in the comments.
      It was kind of weird.

    3. Purple Tranny is the most hilarious lolcow in the Brony fandom. if you poke xhir long enough you end up getting a lollarious meltdown about how 'no one respects xhir's pronouns enough' or 'god isn't real and your prayers are wasted' right after a bombing.

Xhir is also triggered by young men and young men laughing, which means xhir triggers xhirself at funny movies

    4. I never see Purple Tinker respond to this yet you put a response in every post in hopes that s/he does?

    5. Xhir* is xhir's correct pronoun

Give it time, anon. Xhir always shows up.

    6. Anon, didn't you get the memo? The asterisk is now verboten- using it creates a condition of otherizing the others who originally wanted to emphasize their otherness.

Now go write all 60+ Facebook genders options on the board ten times, until you've learned your lesson.

    7. "Sure I've been posting the same lame attempt to 'insult' someone, just as a 13 year old boy on Xbox Live is prone to question the sexuality of anyone who he may be playing against.... but it'll be worth it because she'll totes get butthurt! Huehuehue."

Find something better, man. Like porn. You're on the internet already.

    8. Correction - Xhir always shows up, or one of Xhir's White Knights.

    9. Not really, you just show up with another version of "Get 'Er Dun". It's painfully unfunny.

  3. Yeah, not going to support the GoH comics or toyline after this.

    1. Support the toys, they really are excellent (I have Discord and he's great) just don't support the comics, or if they come with the toys, burn them

    2. What the other guy said - I have all three GOH toys released so far and they're great. But yeah, these comics are doomed.

    3. The comics are going to suck in my opinion (saw the first one which was average, nothing special, and seeing how there's evil Changelings it's definitely going to be non-canon to the show). And if the comics sell poorly (I've heard the sales of the MLP IDW comics also have dwindled), the toys are most likely going to sell poorly too.

I'm not even bothering with the toys.

    1. Considering his LGBT and leftist views did you expect him to look any different?

    2. @07:27 - Not really, I'm just surprised he looks the part too down to the finest details. All he's missing is the fedora.

  6. How is a fat, neckbeardy white guy allowed to write a comic about a princess of color?

Isn't that cultural appropriation? How is it authentic? What does he know about the gender or ethnic perspective- he's not one of them, so how can he WRITE for them?

Isn't that pure patronization, to assume the burden of telling stories for them?

    1. He's actually answered this before. He feels guilty at times for doing it but IIRC he's doing it for the greater good and inspiring PoC little girls to do this in the next generation of comic writers. Or some shit like that. Plus he has a daughter who is mixed so that's part of the reason he's concerned.

    2. Ah, well, good on him for taking on the White Man's Burden of lifting them out of their ignorance with... angry characters that explain what a white neckbeard thinks is the opinions and feelings of a culture he's using to make his own bank.

Honestly, if it takes a white dude creating screechy little harridans to inspire a new generation of artists... I kinda hope they decide to go be engineers or accountants. Something useful.

    3. >He feels guilty at times for doing it but

      Full stop. That shit's hilarious.

It's fantasy, guy. Nobody gives a shit about your screechy messages or guilt. Just stop it if it's bugging you that much.

Do it for your little girl. That should be all you need.

  7. Holy shit, this guy looks like a basement-dwelling virgin.

  8. Holy shit guys, I went out in the real world to catch pokemon, and it turns out that not clawing out your own eyes at everything faintly associated with tumblr stereotypes feels... nice.

The long-time burning sensation and vision loss is gone, and I get to not give a shit about social media.

    Insane, right?

  10. Considering they've got Jeremy Whitley of all writers on here, it's going to crash and burn. I lost hope when I saw his name there, he was responsible for the poorly written fanfiction of "Siege/Seige of the Crystal Empire." I'm willing to also bet if the comic does bad, the toys won't sell either.
