This just in from the Hasbro investor meeting stream

A "My Little Pony" Feature movie, under the new "Allspark" Pictures, is in the works

This sounds like a REGULAR PONY MOVIE (as they made no mention of Equestria Girls)

More on this as it develops!

HASBRO CONFIRMS FOR 2017

From the stream: "We have 2 movies we are currently developing under our new film label; Allspark Pictures. These films are "My Little Pony" and "Jem and the Holograms". Building on the global success of My Little Pony, we recently announced we are developing a My Little Pony Animated Feature. We've hired a great writer with strong credentials in animated film."

UPDATE: CONFIRMED IN VARIETY

Hasbro Studios has given the greenlight to a “My Little Pony” movie, with plans to release the animated film in 2017.
The film will join “Jem and the Holograms” as the first to be produced through Allspark Pictures, a new label through which the company will self-finance or pair up with other companies to co-finance a slate of film projects.
Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Prods. already is co-producing the live action “Jem,” with Universal Pictures co-financing the movie’s budget. The studio has dated the film for release on Oct. 23, 2015.
Hasbro Studios will take the reigns of “My Little Pony,” producing and financing it in-house. It is in discussion with studios to release the film “on the broadest possible number of screens,” said Hasbro Studios president Stephen Davis. “We’ve very excited about the potential of that movie.”
The article goes on to confirm Joe Ballarini as the writer of the movie.

The stream also confirmed that a Jem and the Holograms live-action movie is still in production, and that Rainbow Rocks sold 37 percent more tickets than the first.

Hasbro reports that the Hub had finally become profitable before becoming Discovery Family.

Don't HS do that role already? Or do they mean GETTING RID OF DHX involvement? Or replacing the writers?

    It doesn't sound good.
Thoughts on shat this could mean, Cap?

Thoughts on the fact the writer will be the guy who wrote Fox's Ice Age:Continental Drift?

    1. In all seriousness, I think you guys need to start analyzing the articles in depth. It would help you gitgud @ journalism.#yolo #gonzoswag4lyfe

Also I know you guys are recording the whole stream on your screen. Could you place it on youtube for those of us that couldn't make it?

    2. Hasbro Studios is the old name of DHX. Also, Variety misspelled "reins," hah!

If it's a major event that ends G4, I will be happy. (Good end.)
If it results in total alicornification of the mane 6, I'll be ecstatic.
If the CMC get their marks, I'll be grinning from ear to ear.
If Scootaloo flies, I will die.

    3. Hasbro Studios is not the old name of DHX. DHX is the name of the independent animation studio Hasbro Studios contracts with to animate and voice the show. It was a company called Studio B in the beginning, but they were bought by DHX. The staff of Studio B that worked on Pony mostly stayed the same after the buyout.

The scripts and stories are created by Hasbro Studios, with Meghan coordinating the freelance writers who execute the scripts.

    5. Namefag... how much of faggot are you? The day horsefuckers start analyzing HN articles "in deph" is the day parody and satire are seen as the truth. Piss off.

    6. If you read the whole thing, it mention Jem being produced with Universal whereas MLP is Hasbro alone. Do not panic just yet that DHX isn't involved as it doesn't say that.

  10. Cool, they're making a furry version of Equestria Girls.

But seriously, this is going to be CGI. There's no fucking way they're going to make a hand-drawn animated movie. The last time we had one of those was The Princess and The Frog, and that wasn't exactly a box office hit.

    1. Are you laboring under the delusion that MLP is hand-drawn?
      CGI means "Computer Generated Image"
      MLP is made in Flash
Flash **IS** a form of CGI

  12. Yannow, everyone talks about "the end of MLP" and whatever - and to be fair, I think we're all aware that the ride does eventually end - but has anyone considered that a spin-off or culpable reboot would quickly follow? You know, for toys? Money?

Of course, I'm not suggesting it'll be any good...

Look at the Transformers franchise and you'll agree - a dead horse bleeding money will be beaten until otherwise. WOO!

SUSPECTED SHITTY CMC SERIES IS A GO!
