Patreon Hacked - Bronies Screwed, data stolen, posted online

Rewards like getting all your information stolen by hackers.
For those of you who haven't been paying attention to our Twitter, it was revealed today that Patreon; the incentive-based crowdfunding website (or more realistically drawn-pornography-paywall) was hacked, reportedly by some gamergater named Vince and 14+ GIGABYTES of personal data was dumped online.

Who was affected? What was posted?
Oh...well...just everyone on Patreon....and just about everything.




According to explorers of the 15GB file dump, included are:

Names
Mailing Addresses
Personal Messages
Email Addresses
Lists of every backer of each creator

DMCA Takedown Logs and IP Addresses
Funding Records
Tax Forms
and more.


Other sources have indicated that the last 4 digits of credit cards used are stored in the files, though Patreon claims it does not store credit card data.

Supposedly this hack is absolute, and is comprised of the entire Patreon database.

So, how badly does this affect the pony community?

Well, it's no secret that pony fan-art creators, musicians, podcasters, and animators all utilize Patreon as a source of income for their efforts.


Among these ranks are numerous well-known individuals, all of whom have been compromised by the leaks.
In no particular order, some well-known pony-fans who've utilized Patreon either currently or in the past are; FluffyMixer (FlufflePuff), Ponyville Live (PVL), MandoPony, EileMonty, AnimatedJames, April "PinkiePony" Davis, PonyToast, Corpulent Brony, PaperPony, Doxy, PaleoSteno, PikaPetey, PonyFinder, Seabronies, DawnSomewhere, NekoCrispy, PonyBerserker, SlaveDeMorto (Ask Backy), Atryl, and BronyDanceParty.

If you ARE one of these people, or have backed any of these people, or have used Patreon in the past in any way, now is the time to change your passwords. Passwords were in an encrypted file and have likely not been compromised yet, but in time they can be, which could be a real problem (especially on a website that deals in the transfer of money).

    Oh and yeah. Patreon has had issues with peeps pledgeing amounts ripping all the files then canceling their pledge before payment is due.

    Good thing I smacked my face to the keyboard and saved the result as a password.

    Has anoyne got this list? I'm a journalist who is looking into data breaches and would like to see it. Obviously, I'm NOT going to share it or use the information. I trust, as journalists, Horse News have it and aren't going to share it out willy nilly either, do the responsible thing.
