Nightmare Nights Dallas Quells Ebola Fears

Thank you anon, and nice trips

Anyone who has ever played Pandemic 2 knows that at the first sign of African infection, you're supposed to close the airports. Well, we here in America didn't do that, and shit is about to go down...maybe...probably not. But we here in America also LOVE to panic. Fears of ebola have finally spread to pony-world. Nightmare Nights Dallas has decided to address the Ebola fears after the first American diagnosis was discovered in the area.

How fucked are we?

If you haven't known by now : Dallas has the first reported case of diagnosed ebola in the United States. The individual contracted the virus while helping a pregnant 19 year old infected with ebola find a clinic in his home nation of Liberia. It was even revealed that a public health breakdown occurred, and 'patient zero' may have been in contact with around a hundred people, including two children. The contact had also lead to two people being quarantined as a precaution.

Although it is difficult to contract ebola compared to something more common like the flu, the prospect of the symptoms is what has everyone unnerved.

According to the World Heath Organization, the symptoms are as follows.

What a shitty way to go

Addison, TX, a suburb of Dallas, is the location of Nightmare Nights in a few weeks. Because of this. the folks from Nightmare Nights Dallas have publicly addressed the fears of some members.

"We’ve recently been contacted by a couple of attendees expressing concern about the “Ebola outbreak” in Dallas. We’re aware that news programs tend to use fear to catch viewers’ attention, but we’re not entirely sure what you’ve been hearing. However, since more than one person has now contacted us regarding this matter, we thought we’d take a moment to set the record straight.A person who had come into contact with Ebola victims in Liberia, Africa, falsified his or her travel documents in an effort to catch a flight back to the U.S. He or she has since admitted to lying on those documents to avoid quarantine. He or she was not symptomatic at the time, and Ebola is not contagious prior to symptoms appearing. Several days after arriving in Dallas, the patient began feeling ill, and reported to an area hospital on Friday, September 26th.The patient was been placed in isolation—separate medical staff, separate water supply, and in-room destruction of all materials—at a hospital just over 30 miles from our convention venue, and remains there today. “Dallas” is a metropolitan area encompassing 9,286 square miles. It’s bigger than Rhode Island and Connecticut combined. Trust us, we are well away from this hospital. Here’s the most important part: No other cases have presented. Furthermore, Ebola is NOT an airborne virus; it can only be transmitted through vomit, feces, urine, and blood, which is why it had yet to appear in countries with proper sanitation. While we appreciate our attendees’ concerns, if you can avoid contact with those four things, you cannot possibly contract the disease. We are not altering our plans for Nightmare Nights. Nor has school been cancelled, nor has public transit been altered, nor have any area concerts or sporting events been rescheduled. We know news organizations like to get your attention by talking about epidemics—remember when SARS, bird flu, or swine flu were going to bring the country to a standstill?—but everything here is pretty much normal.TL;DR: There is no Ebola “outbreak.” However, as the patient reported symptoms on September 26th, we will note that Nightmare Nights is exactly 28 Days Later."

Horse News will be at Nightmare Nights and we will party, Ebola or no Ebola...

wait

Well, shit.

  1. Welp, we're fucked. You see what helping people gets you? Ebola is what. Now we're all going to die horrible deaths.
At least maybe we can all get quarantined together and throw a massive after party called "Ebola Con." The slogan can be "Party 'til you drop... dead."

  3. I heard ebola is in europe as well.
I still don't get why we didn't isolate these damn liberians who can't stop eating this very risky bushmeat. They basically all don't give a damn about the law or what other countries ask them and they lie a ton about deaths and more that I don't see why we didn't do this.
