Team KP Fires team member for discussing "loving parody" with subject of parody they supposedly love

A member of the "I<3KimPossibleAlot" team member was allegedly fired last week for breaking a nondisclosure agreement by displaying ethical behavior. The animator who will not be named was immediately canned upon revelation that he had approached the subject of an upcoming "parody" to get the original creator's blessing on the project, on behalf of ILoveKimPossible. The subject thought it odd that KP did not approach him directly, or even ever speak to him before this encounter.

Today a "teaser" for the "parody" was released, covered in "Fair Use" disclaimers, echoing what the animator had said himself over a discord chat.

The practice of consulting a parody's subject for approval is not an unheard of concept. World famous musical parody creator (and voice on the fucking show) Weird Al Yankovic always receives permission in advance from the artists he is lampooning to do so.

The now-ex-Team KP-member attempted to do the same in a Discord chatroom over the course of 90 minutes, in which he attempted to get the creator's "good graces for the cartoon to be published".

Totally reasonable right? You might be surprised.

The video shows this at the bottom.

As one might expect, leading a request for "good graces" with a preemptive notice of a "Fair Use" defense was somewhat alarming to the creator, who expressed his concerns over how the matter was being handled and the motivations behind it.

Then this happened.

A week after this exchange the following half-assed video was released:

The video goes out of its way to call itself a "loving" parody, which seems at-odds with the legal defense message beneath it. One must wonder how much love is involved when the team fired the only member who cared enough about the source material to contact the creator in any capacity.

Fired for showing a shred of ethics and consideration.
Classic.

  1. I am so confused why anyone still 'works' for her.... life is too short to deal with that kind of BS.

  2. Except you missed the fact he took a link of the animation and gave it out publicly without the consent of the animators who worked on it but sure. push your usual BS.

    1. Also you do know messages can be deleted on discord right? Pretty big 6 minute time gap between messages...

    2. Nice damage control KP.
And yes. 6 minutes is such a looooooooooooooooong amount of time.

    3. Well when all they do is search the name on discord and post only the dudes messages on twitter instead of showing the full chat then it looks like there is a bit missing to the conversation. So yeah. Six minutes in a public chat for only him to be the only one to respond seems like a bunch of BS.

  3. Could she just... stop fucking touching other people's stuff if she feels like she has the right to do anything without saying anything to anyone? God the entitlement.

  4. I've talked with people from the team about this and there was no "discussing" from this person. He barely talked to the team before acting on his own and leaked the animation. I think that justifies him being fired.

    1. You do realize that you sound like an asshole, right? You make it sound like KP's team is being paid, by her or perhaps even by Hasbro, and that sharing a parody concept with the subject of said parody is tantamount to intentional subterfuge.

This guy tried to do the right thing and got kicked in the balls for his trouble. KP can't just claim anything she wants under fair use and she should be asking people permission before doing stuff like this. It's never stopped her, but fair use isn't a catch-all solution even when you aren't profiting from what you create.

    2. I think they were being reasonable but outright calling them an asshole just for a disagreement makes you sound like one. You make it sound like we need to ask Faust before we make anything in this damn fandom. If someone is making a parody then who gives a shit.

  5. How and why does this bitch need a team or bodyguards? Shouldn't those resources go to giving herself a much more marketable name than something that sounds like a 10-year old's AOL handle?

  10. Like I said, I've never met I<3KPAL, and I'm glad I haven't, as she sounds like a total egotistical bitch.

  11. An animator got "fired" from a "job" for which they received no recompense because they asked for blessing on a parody of a work that is arguably unoriginal in the first place as it is based on copyright material in which the subject of said parody had no original involvement or rights to begin with... I love/hate myself for coming back here on occasion. It's like a loving little whip to remind me that a) I'm glad I have so little involvement in this fandom these days and b) but you WERE involved once, and you still come back to check on things. #justsadomasochist things

  13. so, fun fact about all this, KP comes into the Fluffle server, along with a few of her indentured servants, and goes on MAJOR damage control. contacting several mods before attempting to contact Fluffle himself. then after apparently "eventually" speaking in DM's with fluffle, starts acting like a friend to everyone there. saying how things are "fair use" and its all good.

she then proceeds to advertise her own discord server, telling everyone to go there and "hang out" then leaves along with her "minions" the same day.

    classy

    1. KP has screwed over tons of artists and just fellow fans of the show in general. This isn't news to anyone, she's literal walking garbage that shouldn't be allowed at conventions. But we learn nothing, apparently.

  14. I will handle KP

  15. I've discussed this with team members, and this guy did not engage in any "discussing." Before acting independently and leaking the animation, he hardly spoke to the crew. That, in my opinion, warrants his termination. come use this service if you don't know how to write a good dissertation. Since I think this website will be helpful to you whenever you call, get in touch with him if you ever need assistance with your schoolwork.
