We're doing WHAT at SDCC? Oh god.

"Horse News was a mistake" - Hayao Miyazaki

Oh sweet christ. I come back from vacation to see a shitload of pressers backlogged in the email. One of which of particular interest - there's going to be  a Brony panel at San Diego Comic Con...and HN and EQD are going to be parts of it.

I'm fairly certain the chubby kid in the picture is supposed to be Chelis.

Anyway, here's that news and a bunch more that I'm going to copy pasta in. Mostly from Nightmare Nights. That's pretty cool.

San Diego, California, United States - 5 July 2016 - The first ever My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fandom panel will occur this year at San Diego Comic-Con International! The exact time and place of this panel will be announced around two weeks before the convention by San Diego Comic-Con International at http://www.comic-con.org/cci/programming-schedule. We look forward to meeting many bronies whom we have never met before. Hosted by Order of the Friendship, join representatives from BABSCon, Bronies Tijuana, BronyCAN, Equestria Daily, Horse News, and Pacific PonyCon as they talk about their experiences within the fandom.

Vincent Tong to Steal your Waifu at Nightmare Nights

We've got the announcement of the Sentry! That's right, Vincent Tong will be a Guest of Honor at Nightmare Nights 2016! You know him as Flash Sentry from the My Little Pony: Equestria Girls movies, as well as Prince Blueblood, Garble the Dragon, and Donut Joe from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Be careful he doesn't steal your waifu while he's around!
After a 12 year career in theatre, Vincent ventured into the cartoon world starring as Kai in Ninjago, Jestro in Nexo Knights, Dan Zembroski in Packages from Planet X, Ant Nekton in The Deep, Irwin from Nerds and Monsters, Muck from Bob the Builder, Daniel from Voltron Force, Junjie in Slugterra, Mephisto in LoliRock, and Matsuda from Death Note. He has recently worked with LA director legends Charlie Adler on Exchange Student Zero and Kris Zimmerman in Kong: King of The Apes and Dinotrux. Vincent's voice can also be heard in the theatrical movies Ratchet and Clank: The Movie and Seth Rogen’s Sausage Party.
We can't wait to host Vincent and all of our guests at Nightmare Nights in October, not to mention all of you! Still need to register? Our registration page has you covered, with discounted rates before the convention. And don't forget to reserve your room at the lovely Crowne Plaza hotel, on site at the convention.
For vendors: this is your last chance to apply to vend at Nightmare Nights! Applications close on Tuesday, June 28, so get your applications in ASAP. We select vendors on a jury system, not first-come-first-serve, so if you apply in time you will still be considered.
We're also looking for volunteers to help out at Nightmare Nights! In exchange for a few hours of work each day, you'll get a free badge to the convention, and a feeling of satisfaction knowing you helped make something awesome for others in the community. We need folks with a wide range of skills, including security, operations, AV, medical, gophers, helping out in our dealer's den, and more. Fill out our volunteer application if you'd like to help out. And panelist applications are also open until September 9, so submit your panel concepts today!

Nightmare Nights Announces Brenda Crichlow as Guest of Honor

We're so excited to welcome Brenda Crichlow back to Nightmare Nights! She was a guest of honor at the first Nightmare Nights all the way back in 2013, and we're delighted she'll be returning to Dallas this fall to spend some time with us.
Brenda has been involved in the community since season 1 in her role as Zecora, but her acting career is over two decades long, both behind the microphone and the camera. A graduate of the Studio 58 Theatre Arts program in Vancouver, Brenda has merited guest starring, series recurring and lead roles for film and television, voice-over, (Zecora on My Little Pony) radio hosting, and commercials. Some highlights include working alongside: Kyra Sedgwick (The Possession); Genie Francis and Ted McGinley (Notes From The Heart Healer); Harrison Ford (Firewall), Angela Bassett (The Lazarus Child), Linda Hamilton (Home for the Holidays); and in Vice with Michael Madsen and Mykelti Williamson.
Brenda's passion and skill has led to work with children to adults as an onset acting coach for shows such as Spooky House starring Ben Kingsley and Mercedes Ruehl, Just DealElf (James Caan, Mary Steenburgen, and Will Ferrell), and as a sub on Things we Lost in the Fire starring Halle Berry, Benicio Del Toro and David Duchovny. Currently, Brenda is one of two onset Dialect Coaches on a show she can't name. But wait for it!
As a reminder, applications for vendors is now open until June 28th. Vendors will be selected via a jury system, not by first-come-first-serve, to ensure that there is a healthy variety for our vendors and attendees. But the deadline is only a week away, so if you're still looking to vend at the convention, be sure to apply as soon as possible. Panelist applications are also open until September 9, so submit your panel concepts today!
And of course, what convention would be complete without a ruthless army of volunteers? Fill out our volunteer application if you'd like to help us out. Accepted volunteers will receive free entrance to the convention in exchange for a few hours of work every day. We need folks with a wide range of skills, including security, operations, AV, medical, gophers, helping out in our dealer's den, and more. Helping at Nightmare Nights is a fun and rewarding way to help make the con a great place for everyone, so sign up now!
Nightmare Nights 2016 is shaping up to be our best year yet, and we still have more guests to announce! As always, you can register for Nightmare Nights at a discounted rate before the convention. And while our top tier sponsor badges are sold out, there's still sponsor and premium sponsor badges available, so grab one before they're gone. Be sure to stay tuned here on our website, and on our TwitterFacebook, and Tumblr pages, and we hope to see in you October!

  1. I kind of wished they picked actual bronies and not those that claim to be...

    Ah well.

    1. Who are actual bronies then? 4chan kinda invented the word.

    2. I never expected a reply, so I don't have a serious answer (as no one comes to mind whom takes the show's lessons and successfully understands them).

For the most part, I'm saying most brony conventions (if not projects in general) are built upon ungodly amounts of dick sucking which I never felt the show would obviously show that.

  2. I'm not sure which is cringeier, that Chelshit is an obese human sitting on a panel of ponies, or that he's much fatter and browner than that.

  4. Truly a tragedy worse than 9/11 in the making. If anyone's going, I'll be the one dressed as Old Snake who shoots himself after telling everyone their to wipe this meme panel off the face of the Earth.
