Fan Voice Actors Unable to Hear Their Own Voices; Flip Their Shit - Updated!

Earlier, Ponyville Live answered a question about certain BABScon panels whose audio was unfortunately hard to recover due to some technical problems caused by the BABScon A/V team. Normally, this would be par for the course, but when you get people who want to talk for a living (and think this is a viable career plan) involved, you tend to lose a sense of reasonableness...

Earlier today PVL put out a press release about the mishandling of audio by the folks hired to do A/V. For people like F3nning, this was totally okay:

However, not so for a few of the fan VA's who were finalists in Tara Strong's sadomasochistic gladiator fight BABS' special event, The Voice: Equestria. Spencer, who won the competition, seemed rather upset:
While not-winner-but-still-finalist Gabriel just outright went CANTERLOCK on that shit:
This ended rather expectedly, with another-finalist-from-this-thing Deimos Foxx trying to explain to the others that the inability to rewatch oneself making a fool of themselves isn't really the end of the world.
In other news, no one is particularly surprised that people blessed with an opportunity to take advice directly from Princess Celestia herself might let it go to their heads...but at least they're not demanding lattes and larger trailers, right?

Update: Welp, everyone can officially stop flipping their shit, as the BABS team has recovered the footage.

  1. That panel was actually pretty damn good, sucks they fucked up the most important part of it. Then again, they didn't even bother mic checking the audio before either of the VA panels so you get what sort of 'professionals' we're dealing with here

  2. Eh, we did what we could with what the AV team gave us. Audio issues were so crazy that weekend, I'm surprised we caught as much as we did.

  3. The A\V team did the best they good with bad Management. Soundboard was in charge of ordering the equipment and setting up the sound. The mics went out because they never were configured as confirmed by the Deputy of A\V, Eclipse. Plus, the A\V team happened to "lose" the original audio mix from the board. This failure was why I replaced Soundboard as Head of A\V with Eclipse who was fixing Soundboards mistakes and made Burnout the Deputy of A\V for his hard work. Soundboard wrote a letter that helped get me fired. But what ever. This time, the bad sound wasn't PVL's fault.

    1. Please. Stop. Talking. You're only making yourself look worse with every passing comment since the con imploded.

    2. To be fair to members of BABScon's staff that weren't fired, the convention didn't implode.
