BlackGryph0n is coming...

to a television near you...
and also this con.

So this announcement comes with a hidden gem of information, the fact that Gabe, aka "Black Gryphon" has officially joined the My Little Pony staff, confirming an earlier rumor that we propagated. The fact the show will now feature members of the fandom in some capacity has of course been met with much discussion that we expect will continue in our comments section.

Beyond all that, the guy is coming to BABScon next month, and you can read the words about it below

With our NEIGHhem concert already bursting with bass dropping talent, we are excited to announce Special Guest, Black Gryph0n! Our mane event for the concerts, Black Gryph0n, (aka Gabriel Brown) is a 25 year old American singer, actor, songwriter and animator who is one of the MLP fandom’s most popular and versatile artists. Musically, Gabe first became known for such songs as Proud To Be A Brony and Paper Sky. As an animator, his “licious” series (Twilightlicious, Rainbowlicious, Pinkalicious, etc) was a huge hit. He is also a popular “reactor” on ACRacebest’s Bronies React series.

At the age of 18, Gabe joined the US Navy and was training in special operations when he broke his femur in a sky diving accident. He switched to the Navy’s music department and then spent three years touring the Eastern Hemisphere as lead singer for the 7th Fleet Band’s Orient Express. He was awarded three Achievement Medals as "a superb vocalist/entertainer"; singing in 12 languages and multiple genres during hundreds of engagements. Now separated from active duty with an honourable discharge, Gabe has a full time career as a performing artist with an extensive following around the world. He has released IMmortal, a CD of original songs with his brother Baasik, including hits like Set in Stone, Crusader (Are We There Yet), and Faster Than You Know. After a successful collaborative cover of Michael Jackson’s Beat It with Michelle Creber (voice of Apple Bloom), Gabe and Michelle now work as a duo; recording, performing, touring, creating comedy sketches and releasing co-written original songs.

Gabe has also officially joined the MLP team, having recorded vocals with Daniel Ingram on several 2015 songs. Visit him at www.blackgryph0n.com

  1. If he's part of the show, doesn't that mean he won't be able to group up with any of the fandom any more than Tara Strong is?

  2. BRB making popcorn.

  3. Just another reason the show should have fucking ended already.

  4. When the line between fandom and the creative team gets blurred things can get ugly. Additionally, I can't stand any fan music with vocals, so despite this guy's horse-famous level I've never really listened to anything by him. Can't say I like the idea of fan-turned-crew singers. But whatever. Good for him, I guess? And besides didn't something like this already happen with that Mando guy?

  5. I'm so calling this: we'll see blackgryph0n's OC along with mandopony's and other show staffers and crew in that 100th episode on background characters...then the bronies will either scream in hell or suck up to all dat pandering while /mlp/ rage quit the fandom and coordinate a swarm of spam to burn the fandom and the show

    1. Also don't forget this is the same blackgryph0n that is living with Michelle Creber (applebloom) and doing all sorts of musical collaborations with her family...sounds eerily similar to someone? Wouldn't be surprised if they're dating

    2. Ridiculously obvious, tho. I think she referred to him one time as "my Gabriel" at Ciderfest, may have been a slip, whatever. Not trying to say anything but that it seems obvious, I wish them the best.

    3. She's fucking 16 !!!

Pedophila must be common between anons

    4. In some states and countries, 16 is the age of consent.

    5. No she's not. She's fifteen.

Also, sixteen is definitely not young enough to justify calling someone a pedo. Sixteen is legal in thirty three fucking states (sometimes additionally requiring a lower age gap, but not always), as well as in plenty of other countries, including my own. If BlackGryph0n WERE fucking a sixteen-year-old, I'd say good on him.

    6. She is very pretty, even if she's way too young for someone as eerie-looking as him, and has been subtly sexualized in some publicity photos that get passed around on /mlp/ in Creber-threads.

If the show lasts that long, you can imagine the spooky collective fan-gasm from a surprisingly large pool of Adult Male Fans Of The Show. Sort of like when Emma Watson became 18, but more focused on a specific niche.

      It'll be awful.

      And hilarious.

  6. Oh please. He's doing some of the vocals for a few of the songs. That's not proof he's officially part of the MLP team... he's just a guest vocalist. This IS a publicity blurb for a con, after all, they want to make their guests look as prestigious as possible for their own sake.

Kind of like Mando on that one song of that episode of Littlest Pet Shop. I mean, has he done any stuff on LPS or anything else since then?

If he hasn't, it's going to be 'official' with blackie like it's 'official' with mando there.

Not that it matters, I mean good for him.
    Don't fuck this up, Black.

  7. Wait... did he get included in the show because he deserved to, or is he a diehard horsefamous intent on grubbing all the attention?

    1. Well, it's certainly not because his 'work' is any good.

    2. Considering he's quote: "a brony not because of the show, but because of the amazing fandom".. I'd say, yeah. He's doing it for the attention.

    3. Damn it, "in it for the people" is the worst type of "fan".

  8. I wouldn't mid if some of the better fanfic writers were brought on to the writing staff (The Descendant would seem like a good fit since his shit is both interesting AND mostly PG.) Just as long as we're not flooded with Horse Famous "guest" VAs.

  9. Mister Twister, and all of you.

I would like to direct your attention to my comment above at 05:54 AM on march 11. This is nothing big. This is Mando-in-LPS level stuff. Nothing much at all.

Capper, all of you, stfu and calm down.

    1. I am well aware the fandumm members aren't WRITING the show. This I can tolerate. It's just that I have a personal hatred of any "fans" who don't like the thing they claim to be fans of, and only join fandoms to get attention to their stuff (their music, etc).

  10. This is just getting worse and worse. Why would you cross Official Staff and Fans? Im about to stop being a brony if this stuff goes too far.

  11. It gets better. The Ingram line has been deleted from the presser, and all comments on EQD regarding horse-famous fag Gabe becoming a part of the show were also deleted. Along with any comment that discussed fans contributing to the creation of the show.
