Based Ian JQ calls out his show's recent fanbase bullshit

If you haven't been following a certain war between fandoms recently, you might want to review the situation before you can comprehend just how wonderful this is. If you have been following the situation, it looks like the show staff can't believe this crap either. Steven Universe Supervising Director Ian Jones-Quartey took to twitter and just laid it down.

This is the best possible thing that could have happened. Now we can only hope that Rebecca Sugar comes out and tells everyone to stop being retarded and enjoy her new Spongebob Yaoi collection.

Ian Jones-Quartey, voice of Wallow on Bravest Warriors and the current Supervising Director on Steven Universe is no stranger to internet culture. So seeing his show's fanbase spiral in to madness has more than likely given him a headache from laughing so hard. Then depression when realizing the fans were actually this moronic. With said depression, he got on twitter and shared probably the best tumblr post to sum up this whole situation.

Not only does Steven Universe's equivalent to Big Jim think the fanbase is being completely ridiculous, he also has no problems with porn at all. Not only that, he admits to enjoying the weird shit. We appreciate your honesty Ian, and can also assume the majority (if not the entirety) of the SU crew feel the way you do.

Also if you're looking for some real kinky shit, applications to write for us are always open. Think about it.

This is the best drama we've had in a couple weeks and Ian just stole the show. Tumblr is getting blown the fuck out and Horse News is just pointing and laughing.

  3. Seriously thanks Ian, I'm not a fan of Stephen Universe, but people need to calm down about the porn stuff. You can't ever get rid of porn it will always be there regardless of rule 34.

  8. It's not like I would even make porn of Stephen Universe, since the MLP:FIM characters are way better and hotter.

  11. I'm pretty sure no one wants fans who actively and deliberately act to try and drive other people away from your show.

    1. What the creator wants doesn't matter. Everything is always about the fans, because the world must stop and start at the convenience of these insufferable special snowflakes.

    2. I think Yahtzee once said something about fans being needy and entitled people who it's in the best interest of creators to ignore. Personally, I don't agree with that, since unlike Yahtzee I do get the appeal of being in a fandom (and of having one), but with shit like this Steven Universe thing, I get where that sentiment might come from.

  14. >fan war

What's really going on here is that SU professional fans are afraid of being displaced by horse-famous professional fans.

This has nothing to do with people who like (or even produce) either show.

  16. Someone explain to me why people go on tumblr? The good stuff gets screencapped and posted elsewhere, anyway.

  17. That's not even the reason why the sensationalists who call themselves feminists but really aren't were claiming to be mad but actually weren't because they were just causing drama to draw attention to themselves..
