BronyCon to produce autism color coded badges

The convention that lives in constant infamy, BronyCon, has had its share of social disasters. Children's innocence destroyed, body odor taken to new levels, spilled spaghetti everywhere, even though this reporter has never attended any pony-con, the glorious drama that comes from a enormous group of man children, legbeards, and actual children being mixed together for three days is the stuff of legend and is widely known.

Well this year BronyCon is attempting to nip the problem in the butt. With color coded social badges for everyone! We're not kidding!

Several hours ago the announcement was made via Twitter that BronyCon was going to be giving out color coded social interaction badges to all attendees. Inspired by the system created by the Autistic Self Advocacy Network, three different colored badges will signify the amount of incredibly awkward and pasta fueled human interaction you'd like to receive. BronyCon and ASAN both hope this will help everyone at the convention to feel all the more comfortable, in the hopes you will in fact spend all your shekels.

The badges themselves are actually easy to follow and are represented bellow

Green Circle = Special Social Snowflake!

Yeah we know the type. You actually like people. While we strongly recommend you seek professional help, then you need to get a green circle badge for BronyCon. Be warned though, this will open you up to the worst of the fandom to actually approach you with a conversation on waifus and cringe worthy internet memes. Or you could actually meet the majority of decent people at the convention, either way you're taking the gamble option here.

Those most likely to wear this badge? The majority of show staff, convention staff, foreigners, CapperGeneral, and FinalDraft. The later will more than likely be wearing several green badges for an extra dose of attention.

Yellow Line = ...Meh

You are more than likely agnostic, libertarian, and hate interacting with the majority of people, save for those who annoy you the least. Welcome to the Horse News crew! If you fit this description, then the ASAN recommend you go with the Yellow Line badge. This signifies you're up to talk, just not with every autist that walks by you. You are reserved for the two people who you actually know and that one guy you met on skype that's pretty cool.

Those most likely to wear this badge? A large chunk of those from the states of New Jersey and New York, Tabitha St. Germain, Fillynapper, and NashEFN, who will clearly not want to talk to anyone but his elite friends at the third place Everfree Network and annoy the show staff.

Red Square = Get away from me you filthy casual

Autism incarnate, void of any need of social interaction, or the staff over at Pickle Barrel Kumquat, you don't want to be approached at a convention you willingly attended that will be filled with hundreds upon thousands of other people. If you fit this description, then make sure to grab a Red Square badge and try not to screech when the crowd gets too large. Unfortunately, this also means you will be forbidden to meet and greet with any show staff or Horse Famous people, nor will you be able to ask your "important" questions or get autographs. This is the path you have chosen, deal with it.

Those most likely to wear this badge? People who legitimately have autism, people who self diagnose themselves with autism (and a multitude of other "diseases"), Nicole Oliver, and every idiot who considers themselves a SJW, because heaven knows if someone speaks to them it will be >rape.

Does the fact that the literal issue of social interaction at a pony convention not ooze irony? Horse News has claimed the rampant autism for months and this only validates it further.

    2. Then you have enough badges to go fight the elite four.

  4. Ha, the irony is without end. Can't handle social interactions, goes to a convention. If you can't handle it, don't go. Simple as that. Do not expect me to observe some specially designed color code system that rates how socially receptive you are. If I were going, I'd go out of my way to chat up all the red card holders, just to make a point.

    3. But that would be rude and the organizers want you to behave , you could get kicked out and you don't want any bad publicity, right? What would people think? Think of all the triggers you'll set off by doing this!

    4. Triggers are meant to be pulled, otherwise why would all guns have them? Just sayin...

    1. >Implying you go to bronycon to talk to the random autistic fan who tells you all about how he liked Pinkie Pie in S03E10 and sings a song to you offkey in the highest voice ever (both have happened to me at various cons) and not your friends.

I wanna talk to my friends and people I at least somewhat know, because it's the only chance I get all year. So if it keeps the autists and oversharers ("Have you read cupcakes? I have at least twice! It's so awesome and dark and cool! I have an OC, wanna see?!") away I'll wear yellow every day.

    2. Or you could just go on /fit/, read the sticky, get swole, and autists will be afraid to talk to you. Even being DYEL makes autists spill spaghetti like crazy....

"It" thinks this is the dumbest thing she's heard all year. If you don't know how to operate in a crowd of 8000+ people, you probably shouldn't be there. That's just my off-the-cuff retort. Ciao, horsefuckers. See you at BABSCon."

  22. This looks offensive. Yet at the same time, very useful. I mean, if I wanted to go for whatever reason, I might not want to socially interact with everyone there. But does this mean that everyone wearing a badge is autistic? 'Cause, it sounds like only the autistic are meant to wear these, which is like labeling. You're either autistic or you're not, only a doctor can tell you that. I don't think I'd wanna go if people saw I was autistic.
